[RSP-Karneval] Die Seele eines Spielsystems
Ein Anstoß zum Nachdenken, den ich bei der Lektüre eines anderen Blogs entdeckte und den ich nun im Rahmen des RSP-Karnevals zum Thema Rollenspieltipps hervorhebe.
Der Katakombenbibliothekar beschrieb in einem Artikel über obskure Old School-Rollenspiele (abseits von D&D) ein Phänomen: dass nämlich jedes Spielsystem eine Eigenartigkeit besitzt, die sich erst in der ernsten Begegnung erschließt.

Als ich über diesen Blogartikel stolperte, dachte ich bei mir, dass dieser Bibliothekar der obskuren Rollenspielregelwerke einem Phänomen auf der Spur scheint, das mir in anderen Texten über Rollenspieltheorie und dergleichen so noch nicht begegnet ist.
Zum einen wird hier eine fast unvereinbare Verschiedenheit der Systeme betont und zum anderen ein Hinweis gegeben, weshalb manche Spieler ein System bevorzugen. Die Verschiedenheit offenbart sich jedoch nicht beim oberflächlichen Lesen, das eher noch die Gemeinsamkeiten zeigt (Klassen, Attribute, Fertigkeite, verwendete Würfel usw.), sondern beim theoretischen und praktischen Studiums des Regelwerks.
Es ist das Denken und Spielen mit den Möglichkeiten und innerhalb der Beschränkungen des Systems. Im Gegensatz dazu steht die Haltung mit den Erwartungen, die ein Leser und Spieler mitbringt und sofort beginnt, Hausregeln zu entwerfen, um diese Erwartungen mit dem so veränderten Spielsystem zu erfüllen.
Wie ist das Spiel eigentlich, wenn man dem Regelwerk folgt?

Sehr gut, sehr gut. Das ist in der Tat genau die Frage, die man sich abseits von Illustrationen und Fluff-Text beantworten sollte.
